Identity-Affirming Crisis Support
I recognize that traditional crisis and emergency responses may not always feel safe or affirming, particularly for people from marginalized communities. The following resources offer additional options for identity-affirming support.
Blackline: Call 800-604-5841. A resource centering the safety and well-being of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color. Visit Blackline for more information.
Trans Lifeline: Call 877-565-8860 in the United States or 877-330-6366 in Canada for peer support for transgender people. Visit Trans Lifeline.
DeafLEAD Crisis Line: Call 321-800-3323 via video phone for crisis support for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Visit DeafLEAD.
Additional Crisis Resources: Inclusive Therapists offers a directory of additional crisis support options, including information about police intervention.
Emergency Services & Community-Based Care
If you or someone else is in immediate, life-threatening danger, call 911 or seek emergency medical care when needed.
I also recognize that emergency and police responses can pose additional risks for marginalized communities, particularly for Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color; transgender and gender-diverse people; neurodivergent and disabled people; and those experiencing mental health crises. These concerns deserve to be taken seriously.
When safe and appropriate, consider involving trusted friends, family, neighbors, or community members who can offer support, help advocate for your needs, and provide a sense of safety during a difficult moment.

Collective Care & Mental Health Liberation
I believe healing happens in relationship and that mental health is shaped by more than individual experiences alone. Our well-being is also influenced by our communities, access to resources, and the systems in which we live. Access to care should not be limited to the therapy room.
